This ambitious young man resigned from his rich job as a communications manager of Zoomlion and founded the Wembley Sports Construction Company, now known as the king of artificial turf in Ghana.

Artificial turf is a surface made of synthetic fibers that looks like natural grass. The specific product used is "ChemGrass", developed by Monsanto and renamed Astroturf. Since then, the term has become the general trademark for any artificial turf throughout the late 20th century.

Entering the site In an interview with The Mirror in Accra, Mr. Coleman, who loves sports, explained that he has always been passionate about football and politics.

He said: “This has affected my 13 years of service as a PR manager at Zoomlion. Therefore, I resigned in 2018 and focused on making up the country’s sports infrastructure deficit. I want the construction of AstroTurfs to be my only one. Priority, I am happy with my journey so far."

According to him, so far, Wembley Sports Construction Company has built more than 34 Astroturf stadiums across the country. The completed courses are located at Madina Zongo, Walewale Zongo, Kyebi Zongo, McDan La Town Park, Losso Park, Tema New Town, Bantama Cocoase, Ofoase Ayirebi, Secondi Park, Adijiringano Park and Tema Mexico Park.

He said that those under construction are located in Agogo, Dichemso-Kumasi, Tema Community 2, Denkyira Dominase, Diiso, etc.

He said that the Wembley Sports Center in the Kotobabi school cluster in Accra was the first Astroturf he built in the country. "Unfortunately, the construction of modern facilities did not go smoothly as planned. Since artificial turf was not common at the time, people did not realize its huge benefits. But later, the residents of Kotobabi accepted the idea, and AstroTurfs is now Ghana. A household name," he said.

Stadium According to him, Wembley Sports Construction Company is the only company in West Africa that produces stadiums. The stadiums are supervised by local professionals and approved by the world football management organization FIFA.

"Our courts are of the highest quality. We use grass from FIFA's preferred companies, especially China's CC Grass and Turkey's Hatko. Quality is our hallmark," he said.

Speaking of the value brought by the stadium, Mr. Coleman explained that the important role of Wembley Sports in the country's economic development cannot be overemphasized.

He added: “We use local expertise in every project we start and train staff to maintain the facilities after completion. We all know how challenging it is to ensure frequent maintenance of this type of infrastructure. Mr. Coleman said that Wembley Sports is currently developing a single constituency, an Astroturf campaign, and added that there are about 12,000 parks in the country, and 275 AstroTurfs will be severely insufficient.
