November 11th-Port Clinton-On Wednesday, the Ottawa Hills Men's Football Team relentlessly attacked and controlled most of the state semifinals of the III state, but the Green Bears fell behind 4-2 and were shocked and refused to participate in the championship game. Nacrest View, Colombia.

Less than four minutes into the game, after the Rebels took a 1-0 lead, the Green Bears relentlessly fought back before senior Wilberschbach found an equalizer.

With 21 minutes and 43 seconds left in the game, the Ottawa Hills led Sergey Fedorov's goal 2-1. However, the rebels scored the next three goals to advance to the championship.

"Unfortunately, it didn't bounce back like we did tonight," said Ottawa Hills coach Brian Hanudel. "This year we only lost 10 goals. But you slipped on the grass and you got some unfortunate rebounds. This is how the god of football looks down on us tonight. It's really unfortunate.

"But it will not affect the achievements of these boys. They are great players. This is an excellent team."

Crestview teenager Nick Novak scored two goals and scored a goal in the last 20 minutes and 53 seconds of the game, leading to an own goal by the Ottawa Hills team.

"They are a very good football team," Novak said. "They beat us a lot. They are a better football team than us. We know this. But we are a very athletic team and we have been fighting back throughout the season. We push it as much as possible.

"They pass very well and they have someone who can finish the game. The playoffs are lucky. We got the right rebound at the right time."

Port Clinton’s artificial turf leaned toward the Crestview side for most of the game, because all the Green Bears did the same after they gave up their early goals. This is the first goal that the Ottawa Hills team has surrendered since October 16. The Green Bears entered the game with a score of 65-10, including a 24-0 game.

The Ottawa Hills defeated Crestview 6-1 in the first half. Adam Ayad, Carson McGee and Walker Kate all had a chance.

Earlier in the second half, the Green Bears carried out more deliberate attacks and led 2-1 under the absolute impact of Fedorov.

Chase Lorenzen's brilliant throw-in created a threat. Fedorov defeated the defender one-on-one in the penalty area and shot a laser with his right foot into the side corner of the net.

"When they took the lead early, we knew we still had a lot of games, and we proved it. We came back and took the lead," Hanuder said. "But we can't finish it."

With 20 minutes and 53 seconds left in the game, Novak's shot tied the score to 2. Crestview scored Ottawa Hills' own goal and the ball bounced off the Green Bears defender.

Novak bypassed an OH defender in the penalty area and scored a low shot to the corner of the net to win the goal, giving the Rebels a 3-2 lead.

After Novak defeated the Ottawa Hills defender and the Ottawa Hills goalkeeper Truman Talbot scored the ball, Crestview scored the fourth goal, with 6:17 remaining in the game. The rebels lead 4-2.

With 6 minutes 58 seconds left in the first half, Berschbach scored a header and Walker Kate made a perfect pass.

"I think we should have better results tonight," Berschbach said. "It's not like us. We conceded four goals tonight, we didn't concede the entire game. But I am proud of my team. They are my brothers."

Kate sent the ball into the penalty area from the far sideline, and the ball fell directly on Berschbach's head, who tied the score to 1. Crestview goalkeeper Sam Campbell blocked the header with his hands, but the ball went up and into the net.

Crestview only scored 3:58 with a header from Ryan Emch at the start of the game, but Berschback scored his fourth goal of the year and Kight scored his seventh assist.

"The ball didn't rebound the way we did," said Kate, the team's leading scorer. "It's absolutely terrible. We are proud of ourselves playing a certain standard. Unfortunately, we just took a day off. In the final analysis, thanks to Crestview. I always think our team's way of playing can be played with any team."

The Green Bears showed no signs of panic and fought back vigorously after giving up their early goals. It appears that Crestview's defender had a handball in the penalty area, which should have resulted in the Green Bears' penalty, but was not called when approaching 28 minutes. Then, Kight let his bike kick the ball just over the crossbar, and when his header crossed the middle crossbar, the senior made another threat.

Talbot did not go through many tests, but he was off the line at 10 minutes of the second half to prevent the rebels from having a chance.

Then Novak, who scored a staggering 57 goals this season, broke through Crestview's momentum.

"You always have to prepare for that counterattack," Hanuder said. "We did what we had to do. But the momentum was wobbly there. It hurt us a lot. Losing was never a fun thing. I don't think we ignored the game anyway. We have 80 minutes. Time to prove what we can do. They caught us on those counters."

The rebels ranked 6th in the final poll. Novak now scored 154 points for Crestview.

The Green Bears (15-3-3) ranked fourth in the final state coach vote and defeated Ottoville 1-0 on Saturday to win the D-III regional championship.

"We have achieved a lot," Kight said. "This year, we knew we could come back here, but unfortunately, we did not go further."

Since 2008, the Green Bears have reached the semi-finals of the state finals six times. They finished runner-up in 2017 and won the state championship in 2008.

Six seniors led the Ottawa Mountain Team to win the Toledo Regional Athletic Championship for the 16th consecutive time. This is the second consecutive season for the Green Bears to win regional and regional championships. Last year, the Green Bears lost 1-0 to Cardinal Mooney in the state semifinals.

"There are only 12 teams left in the state. It is an incredible feat to be here," said Hanudel, who was in his first year as head coach after being an assistant coach. "It is even more incredible to do this with these boys for two consecutive years. I have been in this senior class for three years. They are my boys. I have gone through hardships and obstacles with them. I am amazed by how much. I love this team. We have a bond, and this bond will continue."

Scientists say they finally have an explanation for the mysterious bright blue light from deep in space. Three years ago, astronomers were shocked to see a bright blue flash emanating from the spiral arms of a distant galaxy about 200 million light-years away. It looks like a supernova, but it is brighter and faster than those already extreme events. Scientists have discovered that it includes not only bright flashes, but also pulses and powerful X-rays. Hundreds of millions of such pulses can be traced back to the same object.
