An Oakville, Ont. building project, which includes new playing fields, has increased in cost by more than 30 per cent before ground has even been broken. The original budgeted cost for the project was about $73 million, but it has since jumped to more than $106 million. Contributing to the cost increase are rising construction and materials expenses. A new cricket field and two additional fields are among the amenities slated for the project, which also includes a new community centre and library.
