For the love of dogs, beer and a super-cool business idea, the BRK Republic on Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach is hosting a festival to celebrate its second anniversary.

The BRK Republic West Palm Beach Beer Festival will feature beer samples from nearly 20 brewers, food options, DJ Adam Gold, local business and art vendors and the chance (if you don't already have one or are looking to expand) to adopt a dog.

The festival put on by the "taphouse and dog park with a wine tasting room" establishment will feature  not only blends from its own taps, but also samples from these fave breweries: 3 Sons Brewing, Blake’s Cider, Brew Dog, Delirium, Duclaw, Hop Life, St. Killians, Cigar City, Wynnwood, Funky Buddha, Collective Arts, Mathew’s Brewery, LaBelle, Connecticut Valley Brewing, Sunlab, Big Storm and Progressive Distribution representing Unbranded Brewing and Wolffer Cider.

Owner Lindsay Lipovich said she the idea for BRK Republic came to her when she moved to Florida several years ago.

She'd taken her dog with her to visit a brewery, and when she was informed that dogs weren't allowed, the wheels in her head began to turn, she said.

"What if they replaced some of that steel in the brewery with artificial turf for dogs to play on?" Lipovich recalled thinking.

A few years later, BRK Republic was born.

Think this event sounds like fun, but not sure how you feel about dogs and beer?

Or maybe you don't like dogs or beer. (Whhhhaaat? Have you been to the doctor lately? ... Just kidding. This event is for you too.)

There will be vendors, a live DJ, and food options  from Lilo's Streetfood & Bar.

Not a beer fan? That's fine — other beverages will be available. Or, consider that your aversion stems from sampling the wrong beer and this is the perfect opportunity to re-examine your tastes. You'll be surrounded by some of the best beers in the land, and they may make a believer out of you.

This could be a breakthrough moment.

It could be the day when you look into the soulful, loving eyes of a pup in need of adoption and are treated to a big sloppy kiss capable of melting the hardest hearts.

Maybe it's the day you meet that new best friend and discover what true unconditional love is like.

Love that knows how you're feeling without any words.

Love that will see you at your worst and never judge you.

Love that would lay down its life for you.

Yes, I totally stole/paraphrased that from the Robert Crais' book "Suspect," but it's absolutely true.

The festival will be hosting animal adoption booths, and a portion of the ticket sales will go BRK Republic's rescue partners Mutty Paws and Peggy Adams.

Those considering adopting a new best friend or even becoming a foster parent to a loving dog are encouraged to pre-register at muttypawsrescue.org.

Patrons are welcome to bring their dogs; but they must be kept on leash.

For BRK Republic regulars the main play area will be reserved for adoptable dogs.

The event is for ages 21 and older only (that's the people, not the dogs).
