It may not be baseball season, but that doesn’t mean Auburn’s baseball team can’t be recognized for its good work in spring.

Assistant coach Karl Nonemaker got to feel some of that praise when he was named to D1Baseball’s top 75 assistants list (subscription required). Nonemaker was an outfielder at Vanderbilt in his college days an was named as an assistant coach to the Tigers in 2017. Prior to that, he served as an assistant and recruiting coordinator at Old Dominion.

Just @KarlNonemaker earning some more national attention. 👀

A tweet by head coach Mickey Dean posted a video of the work, which according to 247Sports includes new grass, an artificial warning track, changes to the bullpen and a deck behind the left field fence. It is currently unknown exactly when the scheduled renovations are set to be completed.

The Auburn Tigers’ men’s golf team has a new assistant coach.

Auburn hired Buddy Alexander as an assistant coach on Tuesday, adding a former head coach to its staff. Alexander was notably the head coach of LSU from 1982 to 1987 and at UF from 1988 to 2014. As a head coach, Alexander has 10 SEC championships and two national titles to his name.
