Sheldon, Iowa-The initial phase of Sheldon Community School-The Northwestern Iowa Community College Turf Upgrade Project is approaching its goal.

Cory Myer, head of Sheldon Community School, said that the fundraising phase of the $1.4 million project is nearing completion.

Myer introduced us to the next phase of the project.

He said that through cooperation with Northwest Iowa Community College on the lawn project, the Shelton University sports program will excite him.

He said he was excited about the collaboration between the school district NCC and the City of Shelton to make the lawn project a reality.

The turf upgrade project will convert the current Orab football field from turf to artificial turf, making it more conducive to the Orab football project using the Orab military band to host military band games, and will allow NCC to form a college football team.

Myer said that during the regular January meeting of the Sheldon School Board, a public hearing will be held and the bid will be approved.
