"We are very happy to bring the men's national team FIFA World Cup qualifiers to Hamilton in January. After the impressive performance of the Edmontons in November, the team has gained support across the country," said Dr. Nick in Canada Football Association President Bontis said in a statement. "We look forward to seeing a red sea in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers for the men’s national team at Tim Hortons Stadium in January. As we did throughout the final round, our fans continue to push the men’s national team to a new level. the height of."

This will be the third consecutive home game in Canada that may be played in cold weather, and it will also be Hamilton's first Canadian men's international "A" game. Earlier this month, Canada defeated Costa Rica and Mexico in Edmonton and reached the top of the Concacaf standings after eight games.

Although the January 30th game considers an indoor competition at BC Place in Vancouver, this will bring more difficult travel arrangements to Canada.

The Canadian was in Honduras on January 27 and in El Salvador on February 2.

The Americans chose to include cold weather venues in their trip to Canada. They will face El Salvador on January 27 in Columbus, Ohio, and Honduras on January 27 and February 2 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Canada played the first three home World Cup qualifiers on the grass of the BMO Stadium in Toronto, and then turned to Edmonton and Hamilton artificial turf.

Canada also has four away games and two home games.

The Canadian leads the United States by one point and Mexico and Panama by two points.

The top three teams can directly enter the 2022 World Cup.

The US-Canada game adds another major event to the Tim Hortons Stadium schedule. Hamilton Stadium will host the Canadian Premier League final on December 5, the Grey Cup final on December 12, and the Tim Horton traditional classic outdoor NHL game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Buffalo Sabres on March 13.

CPL's Forge FC and CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats call Tim Hortons Field home.

Forge FC won the first two CPL championships and will host Pacific FC in the 2021 final.

On Sunday, Ticats played at home against the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL East semifinals.
